Omnipresent Monitor

In 2017 a plan was put in place to make New Orleans the most surveilled city of its size in America. ‘The Omnipresent Monitor’ utilizes this newly implemented crime camera system as a vehicle to explore mass surveillance and the psychological impact of the growing field of digital policing. The monitor is a people driven piece that investigates the psychological impact of police surveillance in New Orleans, a city with extreme divides between the rich and poor, a 61% black population and a historically corrupt police force.
